22 Jan More Inspirational Fun is coming to Kingsthorpe College
Not long now until the second Inspirational Event to be held at Kingsthorpe College on Thursday 6th February!
Following on from the success of the pilot year of the Inspiration for Innovation programme we are pleased to be running this event for the Year 9 cohort for the second time around, giving a new set of youngsters the chance to enjoy a day of inspiring speeches and activities which has been co-sponsored by MEPC, Silverstone Park and the University of Buckingham.
The Inspirational Event “Succeeding in the 21st-century world of work” has been designed by Gaia Innovation to inspire school students to consider careers in automotive, engineering, technology and business enterprise, and to inform them about the different educational pathways to access these 21st Century jobs. The students will also gain a greater understanding of the importance of transferable personal and social skills and how these skills can be developed throughout their time at school to help them achieve their best post-education destination.
Scott Wade, Deputy Headteacher, will kick off the day by welcoming all of the students and the fantastic group of around 40 volunteers who are there to share and inspire the pupils with their personal journeys, job knowledge and career route information.
Our Silverstone Park and Silverstone Technology Cluster volunteers continue to support and enhance the Inspiration for Innovation programme and they will be joined at this event by our UK Automotive 30% Club Outreach Network volunteers, including Perrys Motor Sales and CDK Global who will be bringing along their graduate trainees who will act as superb ‘real-models’ for the students at Kingsthorpe College. Along with alumni and educators from The University of Buckingham, this should prove to be a hugely informative, relevant and fun experience all round.
The students will be taking part in advanced engineering, automotive, entrepreneurship and enterprise activities, plus career speed networking sessions. This, along with a VIP speech from Darren Ardron MD of Perrys Motor Sales highlighting the need for a diverse workforce and an interactive panel discussion with Q&A will make for a truly interactive day.
We’ll keep you posted.
